sorry - that should read 'to daniel francis posing as an objector'
it is a political ploy.
this council is in fact a 'supporter of the bridge' but by posing as an objector they don't have to put themselves up for crossexamination. it means that no objector may crossexamine them because the inspector will regard them as being on our side and therefore not allowed to be 'lead' or crossexamined.
they are still under the illusion that they support the bridge 'in principle' - i wish messrs ball and francis would understand that the words 'in principle' were removed at the planning meeting on a motion by councillor everitt and the council in fact support the bridge
it's a scandal |
