Thanks so much for the info, however, I just learned that the actual boat that my son is assigned to is part of the "RIVRON" Expeditionary Group that will be guarding the dams in Iraq. I guess that they are not really swift boats as they are termed by others. They are small, 5 person boats, and look a bit like sitting ducks to me, but then I am his mom. He has just been promoted to Chief(unusual for someone his age - 30- so I hear) this week and his orders may change. He is hoping that they don't as he is looking forward to this assignment, which will be eight months in country. The website that shows these boats if you are interested is http://www.navy.mil/list_all.asp?id=27443
The info on this group is on the Navy.mil website and if you type in RIVRON on the search part they will come up.
