Does your ability to carry a monthly dollar volume from a supplier hanicap you

As a lone Surplus Shop in our greater ECI area, I am wondering who else out there may be affected by such policies I have encountered by ROTHCO.Inc in our industry.

Unless I buy $800.00 of their product, I am not allowed to be listed in their Retailer Listing for potential clients looking for retailers in a give zip code.

Is this good marketing or just bullying? Small retailer of which I am amoung find it hard to buy so much goods from just one source. I find it almost impossiable. Getting close but not quite there.

What I find as an afront, is they will redirect my local shoppers up to seventy miles away to a city with five times the population to support a better buying posistion. Thus promoting biggness not the % of stock offered by the same supplier. ROTHCO.Inc represents 85% of my buying yet I will not qualify to be a stocking dealer with them.
