What We Believe
I borrowed this from Grace Books and customized it to conform more closely to our belief.
What We Believe
The entire Bible in it's original writings is verbally inspired of God; and accurately preserved, according to the promise of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit in the Church - the Body of Christ.
There is ONE God, eternally existing in three Persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true Man.
All men, by nature are dead in trespasses and sins and are therefore totally unable to do any work pleasing to God and totally unable to do anything about the sin nature in and of themselves.
God justifies ungodly sinners by His Grace upon the ground of the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ through the means of Faith. This complete salvation is bestowed as the free gift of God apart from man's works.
All of the saved are eternally secure in Christ.
The Holy Spirit is a Person who convicts the world of sin and who regenerates, baptizes, seals, indwells, enlightens and empowers the believer.
Today there is only ONE Church, which is called the Body of Christ, the membership composed of all the saved in this present dispensation of Grace.
Gifts, given by the Spirit of God as a supernatural manifestation, sign gift, supernatural appointment, or empowerment for service as described in Paul's Epistles - have ceased with the completion of the written revelation of God's perfect Word. Today, God's Word effectually works in the Believer who is filled with His Word and Spirit - thereby, informed, motivated, enabled and led to: preach the gospel to the lost, teach, admonish, help, pastor, and oversee the local assembly, which appoints such as are qualified. The gift of prophesy is the gift of teaching God's Word.
We should walk - by reason of Christ's victory over sin and of His indwelling Spirit. All believers may and should experience deliverance from the power of sin by obedience to this Word: Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord, but we deny that man's nature of sin is ever eradicated during this life. We do however know we may walk in the Spirit and not complete the lusts of the flesh when we yield our members to the Lord to complete His will.
The communion of the Lord's supper as revealed through the Apostle Paul is for members of the Body of Christ to observe "until He comes." There is no place in Scripture where the LORD'S SUPPER and WATER BAPTISM are linked together either as ordinances or as sacraments for the Church.
All saved persons have been made members of the Body of Christ by One divine baptism (this is baptism into the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit). By that ONE BAPTISM, every member of the Body of Christ is identified with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. In light of the statement concerning the "ONE BAPTISM" Paul writes: "One Lord, one faith, one baptism," and that "Christ sent me not to baptize but to preach the gospel," we affirm that water baptism has no place in God's spiritual program for the Body of Christ in this day of grace.
The mission and commission of the Church is to follow the Apostle Paul and the revelation of the truth, which our Lord Jesus Christ in glory gave to him for us.
That Gospel which Paul called "my gospel", in contrast to that Gospel of the circumcision - the Kingdom Gospel, is God's message for today i.e. the Gospel of God's Grace.
Every blood purchased believer is "IN CHRIST" and needs to realize the value that is ours because we are hidden in Christ in God. This knowledge - this walk of Faith affords us not only Eternal Life hereafter but Abundant Life - RIGHT NOW.
Jesus Christ was resurrected bodily from the dead and He will raise all of the saved to everlasting glory in their proper order. The pretribulation Rapture of the Church where Jesus will call His Church up to meet Him in the air precedes the seven year tribulation. After the thousand year reign of Christ - Jesus will raise all of the lost to everlasting condemnation.
The second coming of Christ will be personal and before the thousand year reign of Christ. He will first come to receive the Church unto Himself at the Rapture and then to receive His Millennial Kingdom over which He will reign.
God is a God of order and consistent patterns. Because He is we can Trust Him to follow His patterns consistently thus we look to God's Sabbath cycles - spring to spring, and to the arrangement of the agricultural cycle God laid forth for Israel and we learn from the appointed feasts of the Lord. In this way we can understand what God is doing. We do not evaluate the times by what powerful dictator is on the scene or even the enemies surrounding Israel because there have always been wars and rumors of wars. We rely upon God's Everlasting Word of Truth.
