Custodial Training Programs

Is anyone aware of any intensive custodial training programs or apprenticeships available where someone can learn the trade from the ground up?

Re: Custodial Training Programs

There are companies out there that sell videos that feature this training. These are usually expensive and are usually purchased by large cleaning businesses to use for new hires, I guess. A basic web search can bring up these companies if you're interested. Most custodial workers learn on the job or have done other types of cleaning work before hand. Some community colleges or tech schools provide classes for this type of work. Some individuals find a mentor...someone who can explain the job duties, etc. then when they apply they have a fairly good idea of where to start. It's all different all over the country, the world. Most of us do get training after hired in that we must take required saftey, chemical useage, blood borne pathogen classes, floor care as well as some others.
Hope someone else will answer and give you more to go on than this. Good luck.

Check out the Cleaning Management group. They have programs available you can do at home. Check for them on the web.
