Re: Buffing Pads

The darker the color of the pad, the more abrasive it is. Don't use the dark ones if you're stripping asbestos floor tile! Experiment on a spare piece of tile if available. I've mistakenly used a black pad on linoleum and had the color bleed out. Oops!

Re: Buffing Pads

The white ones are for polishing, the red ones are for cleaning, black is the most abrasive- don't use on a waxed floor, unless you are going to strip it and lay new wax! Burnishers use the white ones, by the way

Re: Buffing Pads

Here are some pads for 175-350 rpm...Black- Wet stripping...Brown- dry stripping, can also be used wet..Green- Wet, heavy duty scrubbing...Blue- wet, medium scrubbing...Red- dry buffing, spray buffing or light scrubbing...Tan- dry polishing...White- dry polishing or with fine water mist for high gloss...Some burnishing pads are ( 1000-3000+ rpm)...Blue, Biege, Aqua, Tan, Natural Hair, Pink....
The only pads I use are Black and Red and for Burnishing my choice is Pink. Hope this helps
