Chris Kerr Memorial Road Race (9/2/07) A strong contingent of Big Ring Flyer riders turned out to take on the hills of the construction-shortened (to about 40.5 miles) Chris Kerr Memorial Bike race in Cameron Sept. 2. A fast field saw the men's winner -- Tim Mulrooney -- finish in 1:35:43 with Flyer Cam Wilcox coming across in 15th position, a little less than 2 minutes behind the winner. "Today was really tough, the pace was hard," Wilcox, a Washburn native, said. "The group split with about 10 miles to go, I was on the back, and I just didn't make the selection." Wilcox said he was happy with the result, but had wanted to do "a little better today." Sunday was the first Mary Hansen had ridden in the event, working with Bean Linzmeyer over the course of the race. "The wind was the worst," she said after the race. "It wasn't as hilly as I expected ...
