Past News: Frederic Time Trial
To the moon, Goetzinger. To the moon! June 14, 2008 FREDERIC, WISC. -- Milestones greeted a pair of Big Ring Flyers Saturday as part of the hilly 28-mile Frederic Lions Time Trial in Frederic, Wisc. Bob Barabe made his return to racing after missing the last the last two months due to a medical condition. He finished the course with a time of 1:26:53 and brought home hardware for his efforts. I'm sure he made his doctors proud. During the race David Goetzinger crossed 300,000 miles on a bike, something he's been keeping track of since the early 1980s. By way of comparison, the average distance to the moon is just a tad under 240,000 miles. The team did a good job running the board in Saturday's race with 10 BRF'ers riding the event and collecting a good share of hardware. The top male finishers were Kyle Schmidt 10th and Jeff "What a Ride" Colbeth who came home 12th. Andrea Potyondy-Smith was the top women's finisher for the team.
