Badger State Games RR & TT
June 21, 2008

MARSHALL, WISC - The team put up strong results in both the Badger State Games road race and the time trial June 21 near Marshall, Wisc. with one male rider taking an overall podium spot in the time trial while the women put up two podium spots in the road race.

On the women's side of the event, Andrea Potyondy-Smith won the 24-mile women's road race which featured a four way battle for the victory. Potyondy-Smith held off Kim Myszkewicz (Kettle Moraine Flyers) to win the race by less than a second while Bean Linzmeyer took third place, a tad more than a second behind Andrea.

A little less than four seconds separated fist and fourth place in that race, according to preliminary results.

In the Women's 12-mile time trial, Potyondy-Smith came home in sixth while Linzmeyer took 10th.

On the men's side of the house, resident speedster Elmer Colyer took third overall in the time trial, about 29 seconds off winner Morgan Wiswall (Wheel & Sprocket). Jeff Colbeth was the next fastest male finisher taking 24th, three seconds ahead of David Goetzinger who placed 25th.

3 - Elmer Colyer; 24 - Jeff Colbeth; 25- David Goetzinger; 33 - Mike Buelter; 65- Bob Barabe.

Jamison Frame finished 6th in the junior time trial.

In the 30-mile men's road race Jim Frame was the top finisher from the team taking 7th place overall while Elmer Colyer captured 10th, just behind Frame. Lance Niles (Brones) was the overall race winner. A crash early in the race separated the field and took out David Goetzinger, according to reports from several sources.

7- Jim Frame; 10 - Elmer Colyer; 18 - Rick Green; 24 - Mike Berzinski; 26 - Jeff Colbeth; 32 - David Harkness; 39 - Mike Buelter; 56 - Bob Barabe; 66 - RJ Ochmann
