Inspired by what Paul Van Der Heyden did a few years ago, I have decided to take myself, my family and my modified Fiat 600 to Europe (from Tasmania) next June/July, with the hope (at the moment) of doing two rounds of the Coppa Mille and the silver flag hillclimb.
I have had a friend translate the Coppa Mille Supp regs. Most of it is OK, but I am unclear on a couple of things. Do I need a complete tandem brake system, and are OHC motors prohibited absolutely? It looks as if they are, but the paragraph above the prohibition says that Bialberos can run - and they have twin cams, don't they?
The reason I ask is that my Targa Tasmania co-driver and I have built a Fiat motor (127 block) with an overhead-cam head. It's no world-beater, but it goes well and has more torque than the 850 sport motor it replaced. The head is not a Fiat head. it's from another manufacturer completely. It's usable because the bores line up and are the same size. If anyone can help with these queries, I have a few more (about getting around in Europe, towing trailers etc) but they can wait for the moment.
Thanks
