i will email some rigs in a couple of days to help you. As a starter i would suggest worms fished just up of the bottom (using a polystyrene ball to keep them up) and a running leger rig. How big do the fish go - this is just to know what time of hooklength to recommend. We use heavy abrasion resistance braid such as quicksilver, fox armadillo or other such material. It is the abrasion resistance that is more important than the breaking strain. Rods we use normal carp rods for most fishing but if on boats then heavier rods and reels help to lift the fish. Running rigs work better as the Catfish dont like changes in resistance. Hope this is a start and if you want more email the society and I will reply specific to questions.
