Cut and Paste Icon not showing
I copied the page I want to put my cut and paste code for E-card onto my desktop. I have tried several times in the HTML and normal mode and all that ever shows is the HTML script. I cannot get the icon. I have a bravent pre made templet and am using Micro Front Page as my editor. Have had no problems till now. Please advise |

In FP you must use the html mode or of course you can just edit file in Notepad. Some editors have problems with previewing third party scripts so always test by saving the file and using your normal browser. Failure to display the icon may be down to your firewall or other security software or you may have failed to copy all the code. If you upload a page with the problem code a\nd give us a link (there is a typo in the link in your original post) somebody can have a look. |

I am not computer savy where is Notepad. Would like to try and edit there. If that doesn't work may have to deactivate firewall. |

FrontPage does not like to accept raw code from outside sources. The proper way to insert the code is to place the cursor at the point at which you wish the object to appear, then click "insert", "web component", "advanced controls", "html", then finish. A textbox will be displayed within which you must paste your code. |

I'm new to this site. I'm having the same trouble. I want a counter on my site. When I highlighted and paste onto my site, all I get is the html code, not the icon I chose. My site is on google pages. Does that make a difference? |

Dana did you read the posts here you have raw code because you used the VISUAL editor so switch to the html version of the editor you used and place the code in there but first remove it from page and then start again |

Thank you for replying so quickly. Silly question: How do you switch views? Excuse my ignorance, this whole web building thing is a whole new world to me!

Dana, you said earlier that your are using FrontPage. If you are using FrontPage and dont know how to switch views, you may be in over your head. If you insist on using FrontPage, there are excellent tutorials available-- google will find them. If you expect to learn the basics of FrontPage by asking questions on this forum, you're in for a disappointment. |
