Subject:   Could Coccyx pain be related to Spinal Headache and bed rest?

Message:   Hi there,
I finally recovered from my Spinal Headache from my lumbar puncture on 1/1/08. After day 11, the CSF leak seemed to have healed. I began having coccyx pain around day 10 though and it's been consistent since. I do get relief from taking Aleve and Ibuprofen, but I wonder how long I will need to take these medications to be able to get through the day pain free. I often have to take meds in the middle of the night too. I am guessing that this pain came from the awkward, prolonged position of laying in bed and trying to work with my laptop and it put pressure on my coccyx. I haven't had any other trauma or injury to the area. I once injured my coccyx when I was 17 (20 years ago) from a fall. It hurts sitting, standing, laying you name it. This has to be related to my Spinal Headache and I just wanted to see if anyone has any words of wisdom. By the way, I'm trying to get pregnant in the next 2 months and really need to be off all medications so I'm concerned about the timeframe of the recovery period.

Thanks.
