Message:		I suffer from cluster headaches but on Wed 2/13/08 I got a headache like I have never had it felt like a lightning bolt had struck my head for about 20 seconds then it began throbbing in the temple area to the point you could actually see the veins pulsating my scalp was extremley sore to the slightest of touch was in horrible pain it lasted constantly I finally went to the Er on 2/14 it had gotten worse by then as well as my neck was sore and burning and my left arm was going numb was a horrible feeling and the most pain I have ever experienced headache wise and I get some doozies suffering with the clusters! they did a complete workup in the Er ct scan showed some infection did blood work then did the dreaded Lumbar puncture! It was extremley painful the Dr said he was hitting bone?? all I know was it was more pain than I ever imagined. the Dr said the fluid looked pretty clear?? gave me a few more shots and I finally fell asleep. went home slept totally flat woke up only to take pain pill then right back to sleep upon waking Fri morn the pain was excrucitaing! I could feel every heart beat in my head while sitting or standing it was horrible feeling felt like my head was gonna explode! I quickly went back tobed to where I felt some relief stayed in bed most of day drank lots of soda and coffee did this for 3 days still no relief went back to Er per Dr orders to which they just gave me IVs and IV caffeine and more im pain med. I have just got back from hospital am in bed and am still in agony! is there anything I can do? The Er Dr said they did not do the patch? he did shoot something in my back not sure what? I was given 500ml caffeine IV as well as 2 addtl 1000 ml iv solutions.Also 2 shots of taradol via IV it hasnt helped at all? Could this all be from the spinal headache? could there be more going on? My neck feels like it is on fire as well as my left arm they just burn like a sunburned kind of feeling. My ears feel like they have water in them kinda full of pressure feeling my neck and back are very sore too I have a very high pain tolerance usually too but I walked out of the Er this evening in tears from pain. Any help anyone could give I will greatly appreciate ! I just dont know where else to turn! or if there is anything else I should do besides lay here. Thanks in advance and sorry this is so long!
