Message:   I am looking for information related to the headache I have had since I had sinus surgery on April 11, 2008. I have a history of migraine but they have always resolved with Imitrex. This headache presents similar to my past migraines but Imitrex does nothing for it. The headache is above my right eye and has been persistant since my surgery. I have returned to the ENT that did the surgery each week and he has done some cleaning inside my nose and said that I was healing more slowly than normal and that inflammation could be causing the headache. He did a post op CT scan of my sinuses that came back normal (without contrast) and my last visit he told me there was no need to return as I was 99% healed. When I asked about the headache he was kind of nonchalant about it. I tried returning to work 2 weeks post surgery and by the 4th day, I was so feeling so sick I had to go home early. I have an appointment with my family doctor this week to discuss this headache since I don't seem to be getting anywhere with the ENT. I just want to be prepared when I go to see him so that he doesn't just write it off as the typical migraines I have had in the past. My symptoms are summed up as follows: headache on right side that gets worse in the afternoon or after an extended period sitting up and gets better when I lay down on my back or left side (worse if I lay down on right side). If I don't lay down (example: at work for several hours) the headache gets worse and I get a queasy feeling and loss of appetite. I also notice that there is a spot near the bridge of my nose that when I apply pressure, it feels like that sinus passage opens and the pain goes away. It is not relieved by OTC pain relievers, Vicodin, or Imitrex. I want to suggest spinal headache to my doctor this week but want to make sure I'm not barking up the wrong tree. I know this post is kind of rambling but I am desperate. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
