Just an update on my Grandson Steven. He's in sub school and had orders to the Louisana (B) out of Bangor. A chief friend of mine at sub school was talking to him and although Steven was glad to get a new Trident boat, he wanted to be on the East Coast. Wala! The chief made a phone call and after sub school & MM Aux Pac school, he will have orders to the Virginia SSN 774 out of Groton. I told the chief I would like Steven to have my dolphins when he gets qualified and he thought that would be a great idea. He said the Virginia will send me an invitation and I can come on board an pin them on him myself. Seems that the chief was a plank owner on the Virginia and is paving the way for me and Steven. Who would have thought after 40 yrs. I would have a Grandson on the boats out of Groton! Sorry for the long post, but I'm thrilled for him and wanted to share the news with my shipmates.
