Frenchy, That's why I talked to the Chief. Steven knew the Louisiana wouldn't go anywhere. "5 kts. to now-where" as the saying goes. Besides being close to family, he wanted to travel. He wanted the North Carolina, since it's the newest, but he didn't know where her homeport would be and it turned out that there were no open billots. He's thrilled with the Virginia and happy to be home ported in Groton. For a kid who is 22 and single, he's real lucky, and on a boat that's at the forefront of technology. |
