All,
I just finnished my Subvets Chili with Mike Bachman and his grandson Steven. Steven finnished top of his class as honorman and also received two separate awards. He has definitely hit the deckplate running and found the hot runners list. He is now off to his follow on "knuckle dragger" school and then off to the USS Virginia, first of the class (of which I am a Plankowner).
It was an honor to help out a shipmate and his grandson, even if it was only in a small way. Mike presented me with a copy of the Naval Submarine League - Submarines coffee table book. What a great Basic Enlisted Submarine School Graduation, one that this Submariner will never forget. Thanks Mike.
