Buttons,
Compton is no longer the commissioning COB! Got in touch with the new COB and he arranged to get me on the list. I received my tickets and went. About 6,000 bodies attended. It was a nice ceremony and the party was very good. I don't think it was a memorable as the Hawaii though.
Met some guys from the Groton base and thanked them for their hospitality for the "Robin" guys.
It was a great day for North Carolina and a beautiful day in Willminton for the event.
Senator Elizabeth Dole gave us a nice speach also.
The SSN 777 is the fourth in the Virginia class, (Virginia, Texas, Hawaii, North Carolina, soon New Hampshire) and their will be about 6 to 10 more in this group. The SecNav says they are looking to put 2 per year on line.
