Trojan Buses
Trojan Bus in Town to Stop Anti-Social Behaviour on Public Transport A recent initiative between Merseyside Police and Arriva buses to tackle crime and vandalism on buses in St Helens has proved a successful exercise in the Force’s campaign against anti-social behaviour. The Trojan bus operates along routes that have previously been targeted, and carries a number of plain-clothes officers, who are ready to leap into action against bus-related crime or anti-social behaviour as it happens. Uniformed patrols are on hand to provide back up and reassurance to the public. Operation Trojan took place over eight days throughout a three-week period. Six youths were issued with Fixed Penalty Notices (£40 fines) and a number of youths were warned about their behaviour and taken home to their parents. |
