Have a puppy after last shots got some lumps on the eyelids (vet. thought Herpies) I thought maybe puppy strangles. Vet. put puppy on prednisone finialy cleared up but took a while. Now Just got last puppy shots and once again puppy has lump (bumps) on eyelids (one that is bleeding) and some now on chest but these are enternal. Put on Pednisone again on for 4 to 6 weeks stated to go away lowered the doesage and now they are coming back. In the chest area these are gone but eye still has it. Lost on what to do? Feel Vet should have not give full dose of shot and divided it up. "But who am I." Any suggestion

no matter what, have your vet report that vaccine "batch" as possibly contaminated.

At what age are you vaccinating?

Puppy had shots at 8 weeks nothing happened then I tell them to wait at least 3 weeks (She uses a different vet.) so she waited at least that long for the next shots. This would have been his 6 months shot. Would think it would be a different batch. Confussing to me as this did not happen with the 8 weeks shot? I want to help as much as I can as this family had another puppy that passed at the age of two so now they are in panic mode "me too"

Sounds to me like an allergic reaction to the vaccine(s). It would happen just like that....nothing for the 1st set...some reaction for the 2nd set and a much more obvious reaction for the 3rd set. DO NOT VACCINATE this pup again...do titer tests instead. Did the pup get a Lepto vaccine? that is the most common one to cause a reaction...the next reaction could move to throat swelling....don't mess with this one! Keep us posted.

Yes he did get the lepto. Just heard Fort Dodge has had some bad batches along with one other. I feel the vaccine has been the problem all along, just got to find out how to get it cleared up as this pup was on Prednisone for almost 6 weeks way to long and is still not gone completly. I am not real Please with this vet. they are using soon as it happened the first time I knew it had to bee the shots as It did not happen at the 8 week shots.
