Clayton Teen Motorcyclist's Family Seeks Information In Hit-And-Run
http://www.nbc17.com/news/7302809/detail.html POSTED: 5:45 pm EST February 21, 2006 UPDATED: 5:49 pm EST February 21, 2006 CLAYTON, N.C. -- A 19-year-old is recovering following a hit-and-run accident last Friday night that threw him from his motorcycle. Daniel Pruitt was trying to turn from Guy Road onto Winston Road when a car rammed into him from behind, police said. Pruitt landed about 100 feet away, and his motorcycle burst into flames. The driver of the car then drove off, police said. "I wish someone could find them so they can pay for what they have done," a groggy Pruitt said Tuesday after he was moved out of intensive care at WakeMed. He doesn't remember the accident, but he recalls how he felt afterward. "It was pretty scary, seeing my family sitting beside me crying," he said. Clayton police are investigating the case, but they have no leads and no solid description of the car. Pruitt's family is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the driver. "What kind of person could do that to a kid or anybody, leave them in a ditch not knowing if they're OK?" said Pruitt's brother, Jimmy Pruitt. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Clayton Police Department at (919) 553-4611. |
