A too long history of Zadoc, 99, Sunshine, Monster and all that goes with it

OK... lets get it started.

In 1993 I met with Zadoc. In late 1993, I became thier drummer. At the time, it was straight ahead hard rock, with originals and some Maiden and KISS stuff. GNR shoulda been done, but never was. Ahh, no one is perfect. Anyhow...

in the fall of 1994, my good friend Exit was planning on making his Insutrial-ish project, 99¢ Special, go balls to the wall full out live act (with many stuff on a preprogrammed DAT TAPE!). The thing was, he needed a synth player, and even tho I had barely touched a synth, the parts I needed to play were deemed simple enuff and so I went on my way with 99. As I was still in Zadoc at the time, and since I could not even afford drum heards, Zadoc opted to replace me with a former drummer.

From about mid 1995 to late 1996, a great era began. Playing live, were many good, talented bands. If you excuse the wanna-be Seatlle ass-raging ****tards from 9 Ball, it was down right awesome. We had bands like Zadoc (who had gotten more Goth rock), Sunshine / Krypt 6 (Monsters first band that I know of), Born Again Savages, Canine Christ all playing out on a weekly basis. It was a truly wonderful time for the (then) young RaYzor, Zadoc, Exit, Monster, Tom, etc etc. We had a ****in blast. Parties, shows, just fun all around.

Well all good things come to an end. I cannot speak for anyone else, but my end came in 1996. 99 decided to quit for a while, and my best friend and forever soul mate Jefferey was killed in a accident. I again do speak not for others, but the others may tell you of me, ,,, I slipped into a social coma for months.

Lets just skip ahead of 1997 (where i rejoined Zadoc on drums), 1998 (whre I rejoined Zadoc yet again on bass guitar for a time) 1999, 2000, 2001 .. quite honestly cause I don't know too much about it to comment aside of long time friend Dan Gober ****ed up something royaly.

So there I was ... sitting at home in the fall of 2002 .. and for some reason that lazy ass Nate decided to call me (or I called him cause he was too lazy to ever call me). Nate and I had remained good friends throughout all of this. He basically wanted me to play drums for him again, he said in this call. I immediatley, happily and with no hesitation agreed.

The new lineup was Nate on guitar / vocals, Monster on Guitar, Ambrosia on synths and me on the drums. My only condition was this: HAVE FUN. It was fairly obvious given our enviornment that we wou;dn't really make a ton of money. So I made it perfectly clear, I just wnated to have fun.

**** we had a good thing going! we clicked really well, there was a tight groove, just a great feeling all around. I really liked it.

Unfortunatley, there was a certain band member (whom I wish no ill fate or harm upon) that had some really weird issues. He smoked pot in my car, and after I asked him to stop, he smoked it again in my car THE SAME NIGHT. This was Monster.

Again I wish no ill feelings upon the guy, I think he is truly talented, but this is the point I was getting to. AFter all the shows and practices and hanging out, this guy just DID NOT LISTEN. He lived in his own world. He had his own thing going on. Aside of burning my seats a bit in my Camaro, he really did nothing wrong to me. But he did the band. He betrayed the trust we had over and over until we could not have it any longer. The sad thing is this guy is so talented and such a good player. I never understood why he just ignored our very reasonable requests and tossed it all away.

So, thats about it. I thought you all would like to see a brief history.

Monster, bud, I have nothing against you. But you ****ed up royally and because of that, a really cool thing died. I would advise in the future, being more considerate.
