HELP WITH LOST/STOLEN DOG

Hi All,

I know this is a long shot, but I wanted to spread the word about my sister's dog who has been missing since 12/30/06. We are exhausting all resources to try and get our girl home, so I've come to these lists in hopes that someone, somewhere, may have information to help us.
The specifics are these:
My sister's dog is a nine year old female yellow lab (retired show dog) that answers to the name "Gertie". She is a very sweet dog, bordering on the timid, and we don't believe would go willingly with someone. My sister and her family were at their cottage in the Bundy/Pine Lake area which is in northern Wisconsin in between the cities of Merrill and Rhinelander. She was let outside the morning of December 30 and was discovered missing about 45 minutes to 1 hour later. Her family has searched everywhere for her and have spent days looking. They have contacted their neighbors, country sheriff's departments, vet offices, shelters, newspapers and radio stations...ANYTHING they can think of in hopes that she will be found. She has never wandered off before or has gotten lost so we now believe that she was picked up by someone who hasn't returned her or has been stolen. Our hearts are breaking just thinking about how scared she must be and how she must be wondering where her family is.

If anyone has any information for us, please to not hesitate to contact us:

Again, I realize this is a long shot, but thanks for your help!
