do any of you use a stethescope and listen to heartbeat? Heart Murmer5

Do any of you have your own stethescope and listen to puppy heartbeats, and if so, how do you catch a level 1 or 2 heartmurmer??? Can you detect it at 7 or 8 weeks, and how? I am thinking of getting one, but want to know what to listen for and if I can even learn to do it myself?

Talk to your Vet or a Cardiac Specialist.

I have my vet listen to the puppies when I take them in for their wellness checkups. He went to school for 8 years to learn how to do it!!! Four years of undergrad and four years of vet school.

It's always good to get the experts advice but you can also practice before and after bringing them to the vet. Get the Lithman brand that's what the human doctors normally use. Kind of expensive but will pay for it self in the long run. Happy holidays one and all.

God Bless,

We do exactly the same thing. All of our pups go in between 6-7 weeks for a check up, checking for a murmur is a big part of it.
