My 8 month old bitch sometimes limps when she gets up after sleeping. It doesn't happen all the time and I never see it once she has been up and moving around for a little while. It is definitely in the front. I plan to take her to the vet when the closing date on my credit card is past. Until then, I will worry & wonder if anyone else has an idea what might be going on.

Perfect time for Pano but only an x-ray will tell. Tell tale sign of ed is limping after being prone so I would x-ray. Sorry

While the ideal would be a vet consult sooner, rather than later, if it were me I'd give her glucosamine in the meantime.

Surely your vet can provide you with the dose to use.

Good luck. I had a girl that limped like that as well after resting, but then once she got going she would quit. My regular vet diagnosed pano. I never did like how she moved in the front. Her OFA's at 24 months revealed Grade 2 ED and DJD in both elbows. She as immediately spayed. Hope you are luckier than I was.
