Hi, can anyone tell me the SOP for overshot jaws? A friend of mine seems to have to put her young male through a 3-wk. ordeal with "braces" for dogs! Has anyone had experience with this? Thanks for any input.

A good friend of mine has a 1 yr. old Sheltie that had an upper canine tooth that was growing straight out towards his nose. She took him to a Veterinary Dental Specialist and an orthodondtic device was applied. She has to take him for re-checks and re-adjustments every few weeks and so far the tooth is being trained to a normal possition. This is a neutered pet/agility dog. The procedure was to correct his bite for comfort levels....so far so good!

If it's done, the dog cannot be shown. But it can be a useful process for comfort and oral health!
