Tamiflu

I googled Tamiflu to try to learn more and read some great stuff. But since it is all second hand and anecdotal, and sinceI am having conversations with my vet, I am wondering if anyone knows of any more formal studies.

thanks

Re: Tamiflu

you wont find many studies because it is considered off label. University of Florida was doing some studies and Dr. Jack J. Broadhurst, DVM has written a few articles and collecting data from breeders that are using it.

Road Runner Pharmacy has a "Parvo Kit" with a 50mg/ml, 5 times stronger than human at 12 mg/ml.
this way a minute dose can be given with the same results.

Your vet can look up info on VIN.....

Re: Re: Tamiflu

If you are asking about using Tamiflu for treating parvo, I have had a mixed bag of results. It certainly is not the cure-all that some articles and vets make it out to be.I have been told by several vets that it works best if you start it as soon as they get sick and in my area a lot of people don't bring the pups in until they have been sick for several days. But I have had some that I felt like it made a big difference and some that it didn't help at all. That is nice to know about the stronger brand because the dogs hate it and the smaller dose would make things easier.
