K Everyone...WE....FLORIDA....are now in the cross hairs...;-( On
Jan 20, 2009 HB451 was filed in the Florida Legislature. This is a
MANDATORY SPAY/NEUTER BILL!!!!!!!!!! We are in deep doodoo!!! They
are hoping that Florida will be the first state to pass MSN...so you
can bet your sweet bippy that they will put every efffort into this.
PLEASE!!!! Spread this to every pet owner...every show
person...every animal lover you know...let's get our letters
going....let's storm the capital if need be and let's beat this
attack. If we do not act now...this bill could be passed as early as
May...and then we will be up the proberbial creek without a paddle.
There is also HB189 which is also out there,,, this will lift the
prohibition by the state so that each Florida County can also make
thier own Breed Specific Legislation (BSL)s would also open the door
for the ARA's(Animal Rights Activitist) to be able to go county by
county to get thier adgenda passed.
. We NEED EVERYONE to step up to the plate with this one...if you
think that this won't affect you...you are badly mistaken.
It is time we wake up and step up...are you ready to meet the
challenge...or are you just going to fade and go soflty into the
night until our rights are so far gone that our animals are taken
away from us???

Is there any letter drawn up that would help someone like me who has no idea what to say ? I would love to show my support but I honestly have no idea how to "place it" in a letter, with out babbling ! Anyone have one that is written in disagreement with the bill , that I can use as a guide, to express my feelings on this matter ? I am expecting my first litter, and I'd rather it not be my last :( So guide me, guide people like me (newbies) who just don't know what to do ! I love dogs, love Labs and want to continue to be able to enjoy attending dog shows, OB trials, or what have you, with my dogs ! Tell me what you want me to do and where to send my letter of disapproval , of this bill, and any others !
I am posting to bump this up to the top so maybe it can get some attention. HSUS & PETA has ALL breeders and owners of more than one dog in their crosshairs! Surely all those who post re:FL Shows can take all that energy and put it to good use in defeating this!!

Great idea Becky!! I bet if someone would, could do this that knows just the right things to say it would really help for others to copy it and would be more likley send it in.
That is a great attitude FL. Exactly why we have some of the problems we do. What if they pass this law and they enforce it? Then what? We have a better chance of getting rid of this if we can work together to stop them in their tracks.
