Taste of The Wild-Breeder Program??

Do they have a breeder program or a frequent buyer program?
Those of you who's dogs didn't do well what was the reasons you didn't like it?

Re: Taste of The Wild-Breeder Program??

My dogs are on it and do well. The store where I buy it has a buy 10 get 1 free program. I believe it's a Taste program.

Re: Taste of The Wild-Breeder Program??

When I had my dogs on it I had to feed more to keep weight on than the other grain free foods I've used, causing a looser stool.

Re: Re: Taste of The Wild-Breeder Program??

I haven't had to increase the food. In fact, I feed a bit less than with regular food and they haven't lost weight. Just my experience.

Re: Re: Re: Taste of The Wild-Breeder Program??

I have one of my girls on it and I called to get some information from them and told them I was a breeder. 2 weeks later I got 2 big boxes filled so full with the sample sizes and brochures, enough to do 3 litter of pups and I am talking BIG litters. Couldn't get that from any other food place. Stool great, weight great.
Now my question is if any one can help me with this is I have my girl on the Roasted Bison & Roasted Venison. 32% protein. I would love to get her on the Pacific stream with the Salomon 25% protein I should be breeeding her in the next month so not sure if I should switch? Any Help??

Re: Re: Re: Re: Taste of The Wild-Breeder Program??

I wouldn't feed any of the TOTW formulas to a bitch I was breeding because of the higher calcium.

I previously contacted Diamond with questions about the calcium % in the different formulas, and was told that TOTW foods contain, "1.9 - 2.1 % Ca, and phosphorous is 1.1 - 1.4 %, depending on which formula."

Re: Taste of The Wild-Breeder Program??

Have you noticed that the AAFCO standards have changed? Unless you have a problem in your lines, TOTW should be ok.

Re: Taste of The Wild-Breeder Program??

I emailed TOTW directly about a breeder's program and this is what I just received:

Dear Patty,

One of the biggest things that manufacturers face is trying to attract
consumers to their products. Marketing through coupons, frequent buyer
programs, and discount programs have always been apart of gaining
consumer loyalty. The concern we have is these programs add to the
ultimate cost of the product to the end user. Each program adds
approximately $3-4 per program to implement.

We have chosen not to implement these programs into the products to help
keep consumer costs down.

I hope this helps with a better understanding of our goal of getting our
super premium products to our customers at a fair price.

We do supply brochures and samples free of charge to breeders that feed
and recommend our foods. If you'd like to participate, please complete
the Breeder Form and mail to Diamond Pet Foods Sample Program, PO Box
156, Meta, MO, 65058, include your business card and which product
samples you desire.

Let us know how many puppies or kittens are ready to go to their new
homes and which product samples you need. We will UPS the first shipment
to you after receiving this information. After that you will need to
contact your Diamond retailer to make arrangements to pick up your next
order of samples. They'll still be of no cost to you, as we do not
allow for them to be sold.

If the retailer is unable to provide you with samples, then you will
need to contact us so our sales representative can help make
arrangements for you to pick up your next request of samples from
another retailer.

Sincerely,

Thanks, I will check the site out. I am at wits in on this food stuff. No problem in the lines of my girls. Just want to to the right food for mother and pups.

Re: Re: Re: Taste of The Wild-Breeder Program??

Regardless of what the standards say, I would not feed a food with this high calcium to a pregnant bitch. If you are increasing calcium, it can cause problems with the whelping.
