Ihave heard that a test for epilepsy was perfected in Finland last year. Does anyone know anything about it?

Found this-wonder how long for other breeds?

2008 saw the first semen from a Lagotto enter Australia and we shall be breeding to Multi Ch Lucignolo del Pesco in 2009. 2008 also saw the introduction of the test in Finland to clear the breed of Epilepsy and we are pleased to say no dogs we own or have bred have proven to carry or be affected.

I saw this as well and they are asking for samples from other breeds. I hope this will encourage those with epileptic dogs to submit samples so we can get closer to a test for Labradors.

at almost every bigger show in finland blood samples are collected from any dog present and they do have a lot already. hannes lohi studies human/dog diseaces simultaneously. also breed clubs assist.
