I have a bitch that started her season on Jan 17. I ran a progesterone test early to be sure I had not missed the start of her heat as she was bleeding - drops on the floor but very lightly. The first test was on Jan 21 - day 5 of her heat and the number came back less than 0.2. My Vet said that low test again on Jan 26. The number on that was again less that 0.2 - she is still bleeding but you have to wipe to find it. She is possibly cleaning herself very well but I am nervous with the #'s so low on day10. Sould I stop worring and when would you run another progesterone test?

My last bitch had a .3 on day 10 but on day thirteen test came back at 3.1.

I have had a bitch stay in the very low numbers for over 2 1/2 weeks. We finally bred her on day 26 (after much $ spent on prog tests).

Don't all bitches need to be mated Day 10-13? It would be so easy if they did!!!
At least with prog testing it tells us whether we have missed or not.
Has the stud dog taken any notice of her?
