Rescue Contacts In Michigan area, Please Read

This is from another Lab list, Black Labradors at Yahoo. This woman told the folks there of this issue a few months ago, and suggestions were given then, but it appears as if they are truly moving(there was a question in the fall), and the dog needs a home. I do recall her being given some info on rescues, but perhaps there isn't one near her or it didn't work out for some reason. None of us have seen the dog. But, she has been so consistent in her pleas for help, this appears to be a real need. Her email address is...

fefepav@yahoo.com

Her name is Letisa. Here's the text of the message..
******************
Good morning all, my name is Letisa, my dogs name is Abby.

My family has had a rough time of it lately. Big changes are
happening. My husband left in the beginning of december to go to Italy
to work. -that's where he is from originally- I am supposed to be
moving there soon as well with our 3 yr old daughter. I have been
torn since the beginning of finding out that because of money we will
have to move so far away.
I have done a lot of research on transporting dogs to another country.
So that we could keep our wonderful dog with us. We have invested so
much in her not just financially but with our hearts as well.

But as the time to go draws near, I am realizing that everything that
has to be done we can simply not afford. Plain and simple, we are
living on a shoestring and a prayer.

I am writing this post because I need help. Our big beautiful L-Abby
needs a new home. I titled this STEPMOTHER WANTED because she is a
girls dog. Yes she listen to men, like my husband, but ultimately she
is mommys girl. So I would like to find her a new mommy. One that will
give her not just security of regular food, but love as well.

I have asked every person I know, and even a few I did not know as
well. I have family and friends asking around to see if there are any
familys that could take her in. Taking her to a shelter is not an
option. The local shelter here, well she would not stand a chance for
the simple reason is there are too many animals already. If we were
not moving, I would never in a million years give her up.

We live in Westland, Michigan. If anyone has an idea, or knows someone
who would take her in please let me know. We are running out of time.
Our apartment lease is up, and we have to be out by the last day of
feb. and will be staying with family for a short while until we go to
Italy ourselves.

Thank you for taking a moment to read this. And if anyone here can
help out then thank you.

Who is this dog's breeder? She needs to contact them as well.

Re: Re: Rescue Contacts In Michigan area, Please Read

She needs to absolutely contact the breeder.

Re: Re: Re: Rescue Contacts In Michigan area, Please Read

I think she has, but I will email the list and suggest that to her. Assuming she has, or has a good reason why she hasn't, ie, the dog may be a rescue for her.

Too quick on the Send..

If the breeder is not an option..and not all breeders of Labs are ethical or want a dog back, sad to say...I will hopefully see a post from her and if she still needs help, I will drop a note her and hopefully someone can offer more suggestions than I can.
