Early Ear Infection...Vet had a holitistic suggestion

Hi there,

My 1 year old boy had one droopy ear this morning and was shaking his head a lot. No visible yeast in the ear and no odor. Took him to the vet to investigate and he agreed that he did not see or smell anythign either. He thought perhaps that I had noticed it very early or maybe it was more in the inner canal.

He did give me Surolan, but also suggested that I flush his ears using a solution of 4 parts water to 1 part white vineagar ratio at body temp. To pour it deep into his ear and let him shake it out, then do the Surolan.

Have you ever heard of or used this method?

My boy has been doing a ton of swimming, 3-4 times a week so he has certainly had the chance to get an infection.

Thanks for any input you can give.

I've used a similar solution of 1/3 each white vinegar, water & rubbing alcohol for years with great success! I just keep it in a squeeze bottle in my cupboard so it's at room temp and ready to use when needed.
