Size of Males

Have a question;
I had a puppy buyer contact me today about a 6.5 month old male they got from me. They say he is beautiful but small - about 45 lbs. This boy was always the smallest in his litter. His male siblings are 60 lbs and over, and his female siblings are almost as heavy, but slightly shorter.

This puppy lives at a distance, so I haven't seen him, and I requested pictures be sent to me.

Parents are 75 and 85 lb. dogs, both in Standard for height. I realize there are "small" genes that can get into the mix, but has anyone ever had a male be so much smaller? Any ideas what his adult size may be? I'm guessing 60 lbs or so?

Any experiences would be appreciated.

Re: Size of Males

Yes - I've seen significantly smaller males and females popping up when the rest of the litter was normal or large. It's pretty common in certain lines.

More so I have found in the chocolate lines, but yes, very common.
besides, size doesn't matter if they just wanted a pet
