A question for breeders. How many days rest do you give your stud dog between breeding 2 different females. I breed a female skip a day and then breed again. How long of a rest do most breeders give their males before they breed another female. Does the male need a certain number of days to build up a store of semen again for the second female.

It really depends on the dog, his age and what he has been producing (sperm wise).

Many young dogs can breed two bitches a day. Some need more recovery.

Do sperm counts and see. The sperm you see today was made 3 months ago.

Keep him in good shape - once a day is fine.

I had two girls last month, I split his semen each day because both were cycling at the same time. One day rest in between. Both had 10 pups each!
