I was asked to post an update on Jake, my boy who had an inner ear infection. In the last two weeks or so, he seems to have finally gotten back the form he was exhibiting before he had the infection. It has been almost two months, and he NQed at the three hunt tests we ran him in. He seemed to be particularly confused by in line marks. Hunt tests are over here in Wisconsin for the year, so we will wait until next spring. Meanwhile we'll be doing conformation and maybe some Rally. Here is my trainer's description of the last two days. Carroll trains with Larry almost every day. She has a MH girl and another girl with 2 MH legs.
Larry writes:
This might be premature, but today Carroll said "Jake is back".
Yesterday we did a difficult water triple, in line memory birds, with a
diversion bird on the way out to the blind, Jake nailed it. Today we
did a difficult land triple, blind under the arc of the flier. Jake
nailed all the marks and had two whistles to the blind. Wasn't even
thinking about the flier fall on way to the blind.
I hope this continues, but he sure is training well. The other series I
have kept much easier for him to build confidence.
