If I co-own a male and he is AKC but I want to register him CKC, do I need co-owners permission, and would I have to co-own him CKC, as well? Co-owner was kind of a BYB and is not cooperating. I am going to talk to the CKC but thought this might be a good first stop. Thank you.

both reg must have the same owners, so if coowned AKC the dog would have to be coowned CKC
only way around it would be to have the breeder sign the AKC ownership over

Canadian Kennel Club registration must mirror the primary registration (in this case, AKC).

To the OP - when registering you do have to have the same owners/coowners on both papers. If you want to break the coownership, the other owner needs to sign.
