We start around day 8-10 based upon prior history of that particular girl and taking into consideration the W/E. As long as the W/E is not an issue and no prior history, day 9.
How often we test is based upon the 1st result, it could be 2 days or 5 days. If she is "no where" (.2-.5) we wait 4-5 days to re-test, again based upon the W/E. There is no set re-test time without knowing the numbers because from the LH peak to prime breeding time you have a 5 day gap.
I've had girls ovulate on day 15, same girl ovulate on day 7 on a different season. Test on day 7, see where you are, take it from there. Remember they can get to 4 and back down for a few days, don't assume they've gone higher.
Week-end
Even if they ovulated on day 7 and you tested day 9, you have a day to get the semen there. We get same day results so in your example we still would have time to get the semen there as we would have had 2 days.
