Exceed Chicken and Rice.

Re: Pro Plan All Life Stages 30/20 food (Black/Purple Bag)

Thank you for the suggestions so far!

I only wish Purina didn't use menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity). This is a toxic substance, why is it in our dog foods when there are safe alternatives? Most quality dog foods stopped using this. Please, write Purina and voice your opinion.

Re: Pro Plan All Life Stages 30/20 food (Black/Purple Bag)

I'm sorry, but the link between the discussion on Wikipedia (not exactly an authoritative source on much of anything) for menadione, and the ingredient menadione sodium bisulfite complex is not immediately evident. The Wikipedia discussion centers around the molecular structure of menadione without taking it further to the ingredient in question. I would liken this to encouraging us not to breathe air because it contains oxygen, and Wikipedia clearly states that Oxygen is extremely combustible.

Sorry, wrong link, try this:

Re: Fromm doesn't have this in it.

They have a grain free surf and turf that is 30% protein and 19% fat. Good calcium and phos levels for growing pups too (see other discussion).
Is USDA inspected and under faq dog food talk about menadione sodium bisulfite or the ethoxyquin treated fish.
