info on clicker training?

What clicker training books/tools do you recommend for starting puppy training and show training?

Re: info on clicker training?

I am really glad to see this post - I actually purchased a couple of books on it, and it sounds great. I got "Positive Training for Show Dogs: Building a Relationship for Success" by Vicki Ronchette, and the Pat Hastings "Another Piece of the Puppy Puzzle" also mentions it. They look really good, and I am interested in trying it, too.

Are there any of you that are using clicker training and can give some feedback on this training method either way?

Feel strange about having to be tied to the clicker, but willing to do it if it is successful.

Karen Pryor, one of the founding mothers of clicker training, has a great kit for new puppy owners.

You need not be tied to the clicker, which is used only for teaching the behavior. Once learned a simple cue word and reward is all that is necessary.
