Beautiful Puppy, but because winners dog was from the 9-12 class wouldn't he automatically be best puppy too?

No, he would be the only male in the competition, as he already defeated all of the other boys, however, he still has to go up against the girls.

He would have gone Best Puppy if he had gone Best of Winners, but he didn't, so he only beat the boys.

Only if he had gotten Best Of Winners. That means he defeated all the class boys and girls. By only getting WD, he still had to go up against the girl pups. He did not have to compete against the boy pups, because he already beat them.

Glad the Bowron's and others explained it but the other pup that took WD has it's own post.
