Absent due to judge change.

When the judge changes after closing, you can cancel your entry and get your money back if you don't want to show to the new judge.

What does "SEL" mean?

Re: AJC - What does it mean?

Oh - that's the new "Select" designation for the Grand Champion title that AKC just decided to award. You'll have to read up on how that works.

It takes 3 majors and 25 points for an AKC Grand Champion always after a Championship. The best of the best dogs in the judge's opinion are usually selected, reason it's called *select* for this award. There is no special class for it.

I don't think it will be an easy ride but you'll see a few become Grand Champions in the next year or so. Alot depends on the quality of the dog and how much showing the already established Champion is involved in. If there is a boy out there of exceptional quality in the opinions of several judges OR a dog being campaigned, he and-or she has a better chance of racking up those majors and points. It's not a few week or weekend championship, thats for sure.
