Ms. Laura J. Dedering

What does Laura like or dislike in labrador when She is judging?

Re: Ms. Laura J. Dedering

When I am looking to see what a particular judge likes, I usually check AKC's judge database, which shows their past and future assignments. If it is a breeder judge, I also look at their dogs.

I hope this helps!

I am not sure what you mean by "well done". Can you please explain a little more?

I did see that she likes dogs that can move (per her website)

She picked mine and she's not big. She's typey. She's the smallest Lab I own. In the ring she's medium sized compared to her peers. She does have great substance but is fit because she hunts.

Laura likes correct, typey Labradors that move well.

As far as I know Laura likes a NICE, well put together dog that has correct conformation and moves properly. Isn't that what judges should be looking for?

Look at her own many generations of Foklaur dogs, they are *NOT* *well done* if you mean size.

I think you have her confused with another judge.

If all judged as fair as Laura D. , we would have a bunch of great, non-political judges. I have the utmost respect for her and her way of judging which is done properly. No pay backs, no handlers or big names, she judges the *DOG* and not the wrong end of the lead.

She judges looking for the best dog on that given day which is all a judge can do if they're fair to the breed and breeders of those dogs. I would show under her anytime!

If this conversation keeps going in the wrong direction, she'll wind up puttng everyone in their places.

Keep the conversation correct, not off the top of your head. If you've watched her judge, you know exactly what I mean. She's a fair, excellent judge. You'll be lucky to show under her given the chance.

PS

You are correct! I will add another word. Proper movement!

If you have ANY SIZE dog, within the standard, well moving with correct conformation, she might like your dog. This is how showing should be. I wish she would do more judging or teach many others how to judge properly.

Luv your judging and knowlege of the breed Laura D!

Re: Ms. Laura J. Dedering

I am very much looking forward to showing to her in a couple of weeks at Rose City. I have heard so many good things about her judging and this just confirms it.

I was the one who asked about what "Well Done" meant. I sounded too much like how a steak is prepared and just wanted an explanation!

Thanks for all of the clarification.
