5 week old puppy

A min ago one of my puppies jumped up on me and I noticed she had a little dribble--just a tiny amount of pee that came out but it almost looked like pus. It was creamy colored. Here we go again...my vet thinks I am a bit over board--calling all the time. The pup is acting fine, eating and playing and not peeing any more than the others. Any ideas?

Re: 5 week old puppy

What about just a little puppy vaginitis? More of a localized mucous production than an infection. Usually nothing to worry about unless they show signs of a UTI. Even if treated with antibiotics still stays around. Usually clears up on the first heat cycle if you were to keep her open.

Re: 5 week old puppy

Sounds like puppy vaginitis. And as mentioned antibiotic won't help because it is not bacterial.

If you aren't sure you may want the vet to take a swab to be on the safe side.

But it does not sound like a UTI to me.

Here is info from Hutch if you are interested.
