I think the standard is to worm, then do it again in 2 - 3 weeks, and then again in 3 months. Pretty much that means 3 rounds of two wormings per year. Our schedule is December, April, August (again, 2 wormings each time, 2 - 3 weeks apart).
I am not sure I would do it this much unless you have multiple dogs, many of whom are at shows, at trials or in the field a lot.
Also, because we do worm a lot, there is no need to do heartworm at the strength they advertise. You can go a much lower dose, every 45 days, for only part of the year. We think that more strongid or panacur is less harmful than systemic heartworm med year round which is not necessary for heartworm. Thos ehigh doses are for intenstinal worms.
