Leather Leashes

Does anyone know of a good website where they custom make leather leashes?? I need a good 6 ft leash for my Parti Cocker in obedience. I find a few at shows but they are too short. I would like a custom made black and white lead.

Re: Leather Leashes

I love onlead.biz, who goes to shows in NJ and PA, some other places. I prefer the softer bullhide. For rally, I want the long lead supple and relatively thin. Biggest mistake on a small dog when ordering sight unseen: getting too big a snap. Kim is realistic about what works for what size dog if you have questions. I like the softness of bullhide, and have used it in rally, single width, for Labs, and have show and rally leads for my Cavalier. For my son with a Lab, we have a braided bullhide lead for more grip and to fold easily in the hand when heeling. Small dogs can also use the even lighter weight leather for a show lead look. Happy heeling!

stibbar.com

They custom braid beautiful leather leads and collars. I bought one last year and love it.

Re: Leather Leashes

I have gotten my custom lead from onlead as well. Leather is like butter, easy to collect in your hand. The attached the lead directly to the snake chain, but you can have it made with a clip on as well. Love it. It did "shed" a bit the first few times I used it, however (little leather specks).

Re: Leather Leashes

I've purchased braided, leather leads from Alvalley 2 years in a row at Potomac. They're made beautifully of excellent grade leather and hold up well.

He has some new styles but this is what I purchased. He spent time with me helped me decide on what was best and gave me a 10% discount.

Re: Leather Leashes

Speaking of Alvalley leads for conformation, is the stop useful? Prefer with or without the stop?

Re: Leather Leashes

Anyone know where to get the leather ones with pretty beads?

Re: Leather Leashes

Google Hogan Leather. She does a lot of nice work with Leather and Leads and will do custom work.

No she does not....but I can vouch for the fabulous timely work she does. I wanted mine leashes thicker than waht she normally makes and she did that for me. Carissa is a professional handler so she totally understands the importance of a correct leash.

Re: Leather Leashes

Carissa now has a website for her custom leashes.
