I think it's time for a new one. My old Garmin doesn't tell me the name of the road where I am to make the turn. Is this a feature of newer models?

Yes, there are models that say the road names. I have the Nuvi 255 and it says the road names well in advance of the turn and when making the actual turn. I love my Garmin.
