Why do handlers charge so much at a National specialty?
Mine wants $250.00 per dog per class. DIVORCE!!!!!! LOL

What is so unique about the nationals compared to a specialty?

Apparently they do it because they can...

I need to find someone that will handle for less.

Maybe a junior handler or another Lab buddy.

I only have 2 to show each day, both girls different classes.

Professional handlers charge more for specialties because they usually don't have as many dogs to handle but expenses stay pretty much the same (travel, motel, meals, etc)as opposed to an all breed show.

With breeder/judges, the handling isn't expected to be at the level of all breed. Why not just go to a class or 2 and do it yourself?

Show them yourself. The Judges that weekend won't care about who or how the dog is handled.
