Need Ortho vet CT or MA

Does anyone know of a good vet ortho surgeon in CT or MA with experience doing arthroscopic surgery on pups with djd?

Re: Need Ortho vet CT or MA

Dr. Berzon is really good. Here is a link.

I would use Dr Frost instead. I have used both. Dr Frost works by referral, so I go through my vet which is Suffield Veterinary Hospital. You can always PM me if you have questions.

Re: Need Ortho vet CT or MA

Both Dr.s Berzon and Frost are boarded surgeons (DACVS)and both are quite good... there are also many others, especially if you are looking in MA too. That is a pretty wide region- if you are more specific it might help narrow down the options for you.

ps- I'm not sure Dr. Frost does Arthroscopy, Tiffany have you used him specifically for that before?

The upside of the traveling surgeon is that they come right in to your current vet's practice, the downside is that they typically do not have the same equipment/options of the surgeon who is in a stationary practice.

For most things I personally prefer to refer to a surgical practice- in addition to the actual surgeon they also typically have specialized staff and tend to have a more diverse case load (in my opinion).

You should consider Ed Kochin at Buzzards Bay Veterinary Hospital... used him on a grown dog and loved him. This number might be old... 508-759-5125

I highly recommend Dr. Berzon and the Veterinary Specialists of CT for any orthopedic surgery. I have been that route twice and can only say that Dr. Berzon and the entire hospital staff is top notch. They also have a state of the art rehab facility attached to the hospital now.
